The Rev. Trevor Jamison
Rev Jamison was born in Belfast in 1959 and lived there until
1983. He grew up in a Presbyterian congregation, where
he was an active member of the Boys' Brigade. Educated
at the Belfast High School, he moved on to Queen's University
Belfast, where from 1978-1982 he read Modern History and
Economic and Social history. With a BA Degree behind him
he came to London in1983 where, at University College London
he obtained an MA in Library and Information Studies.
Trevor worked as a librarian in London and also became
involved with St. Paul's URC, Bayswater. It was here
that he met and, in 1994 married Sue, an artist, designer and
tutor and also a minister's daughter. Trevor and Sue
now have one son, Joshua, who is now six years old.
While at St. Paul's, Trevor became an Elder and Boys'
Brigade Leader. He became active in leading worship etc
and feeling called to the Ministry, he underwent training at
Mansfield College, Oxford between 1991 and 1995. He
later followed this with a Master's theology degree at Pittsburgh
Theological Seminary in 2000 and 2001.
From 1995 to 2001 Trevor was minister to two
URC's in Liverpool, combining this with various
responsibilities at district and Synod. After the
Pittsburgh MA Trevor returned to the UK to become Synod Adult
Education Officer for the Northern Synod. This
responsibility has given Trevor considerable experience in
working with varied congregations.
Trevor enjoys reading novels, history books, (especially
about Irish History) and detective stories. He also
enjoys visits to museums, galleries and historical buildings,
theatre and cinema. . |
